The Arizona Cardinals' Jeff Gladney dies in a car crash
An Arizona Cardinals defensive back, Jeff Gladney, died in a car crash on Monday in Dallas. He was 25 years old.
It was confirmed that Gladney had died by the Cardinals and his agent.
“We are devastated by the news that Jeff Gladney has passed away. "Our hearts go out to his family and friends," the team said.
According to KTVT-TV, the crash took place on the service road of Woodall Rodgers Freeway in Dallas. Another person was also killed.
During the Memorial Day holiday, no one from the Dallas County sheriff's department was available to discuss the crash.
Gladney played at TCU before becoming a Minnesota Vikings draft pick in the 2020 first round.
The following year, he played in 16 games but was released before the 2021 season after being charged with assaulting a woman.
The Cardinals signed Gladney after he was found not guilty in Dallas County, Texas, in March. Gladney took part in team drills last week.
In this most difficult time, we ask for prayers for the family and respect for their privacy," said agent Brian Overstreet.
