He is going to face up to 2 years in prison and fines of up to $200,000 (£167,000).

Talking to journalists outside the court, Bannon vowed to have the judgment overturned with a "strong appeal" filed by his attorney.

"We may have lost the fight here today," he remarked, "but we're not going to lose the war."

The date for his sentence has been scheduled for October 21.
