AOC Was Arrested in a Supreme Court Rally

More than a dozen US lawmakers, many of whom are members of the Democratic Women's Caucus,

On Tuesday, US Capitol Police arrested 3 people at an abortion-rights rally in front of the US Supreme Court.

New York Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Carolyn Maloney, and Nydia Velazquez were among those taken into custody.

Cory Bush, Ayanna Presley, and Ilhan Omar are among the representatives.

When contacted for statement, the US Capitol Police referred to statements made on its Twitter account.

According to US Capitol Police, 35 people were arrested for obstructing traffic, including 17 members of Congress.

The event, which took place in front of the Supreme Court steps, was captured on video with police escorting Ocasio-Cortez.

Representatives did not reply immediately to a seeking comment.

The protest reflected Dems' outrage over the June Supreme Court decision in Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Medical Organization,

which overturned the Roe v. Wade-mandated constitutional right to abortion.
