Earth Day Celebrations, 10 things you can do creatively

Earth Day is coming near and area groups have organized a multitude of cleanups, recycling drives and celebrations.

The Ohio History Center, 800 East 17th Ave., is holding an event on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 pm. titled Seeds of Caring’s Kids as Planet Protectors: An Earth Day Celebration.

The annual Earth Day Celebration at Genoa Park will be held Saturday, April 23, from noon to 7 p.m.

It's geared toward kids ages 4-12 and will include outdoor and indoor activities including educational scavenger hunts, litter cleanup, reduce and reuse activities, and gardening.

On the cleanups front, the 20th annual South Central Hilltop Spring Cleanup/Pizza Party will be held April 23 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Roll up your sleeves and plant some trees at Big Walnut Park, 1826 Lattimer Dr., on Friday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
